Artificial intelligence might be changing the world, but there’s one profession that remains proudly human — plumbing.
At Warrior Plumbing, we believe that progress and tradition can work side by side. As an Indigenous-owned and operated company, balance is core to how we work, balance between technology and craftsmanship, efficiency and care, growth and giving back.
So when people ask if AI will take over the trades, our answer is simple: AI will help us, not replace us.
Plumbing is more than pipes and fittings — it’s about people. Every project is unique, every system tells a story, and every repair requires adaptability and experience. A robot might detect a leak, but it can’t crawl under a sink or make the split-second decisions that experienced plumbers make daily.
Even Geoffrey Hinton, the “Godfather of AI,” has said that trades like plumbing are among the least likely to be replaced because they depend on dexterity, coordination, and judgment — things that technology still can’t do. (Service Mammoth, 2024)
Here at Warrior, we see that every day. Our foreman, Ben Fairfield, still checks valves by hand but also uses smart tools for system diagnostics. This blend of experienced hands guided by smart technology represents the future of our trade.
AI is already making our jobs easier in small ways. Smart sensors detect tiny leaks before they cause damage. Predictive maintenance tools help us prevent issues before they start. (ServiceTitan, 2024) And scheduling and estimation software streamline operations behind the scenes. But what makes it all work is the human decision-making and trust behind every repair.
For Indigenous Youth exploring their future, plumbing offers something rare, a trade that’s both hands-on and future-proof. Through our Youth Apprenticeship Program, Warrior continues to welcome Indigenous apprentices who are learning traditional skills alongside new technologies. They’re not just preparing for jobs; they’re building careers that will outlast any AI trend. Learn more about Indigenous Youth plumbing service opportunities with Warrior Plumbing.
As we like to say: AI might make our work easier, but it will never take our place. People will always need safe homes, clean water, and reliable service, and that means they’ll always need plumbers.
At Warrior Plumbing, we’re proud to help train the next generation of Indigenous tradespeople — equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and heart that define what it means to be a Warrior.
